Petition to Administrative members of the Monroe school district

Change graduation to what we all voted for, formal ceremony in the summer or November.

This petition is to change graduation to what we all voted for, to wait and see if we can have a formal ceremony in late summer. If that doesn't work out, then we should result to what we have planned for the 12th, or push graduation to Thanksgiving break. As we all know, we were given a survey to vote on what we wanted. That survey meant nothing. The administration completely ignored what we wanted and took action into their own hands. You never gave a normal graduation a chance, and ignored what WE THE SENIORS WANTED. We understand that regulations may not permit us to have a normal graduation during the summer or in November, but we ask that you at least give it a chance.

Petition to Dr. Kimberly A. Hill

all charles county class of 2020 graduates should be given a TRADITIONAL graduation

This message is for Dr. Kimberly Hill. I recently emailed Ms. Hill about a graduation ceremony outside in a large stadium. It was told to me that it is governor Larry Hogan's call and there is not much she can do. It has also been brought to my attention that Larry Hogan never stated that no one is prohibited from having a graduation ceremony it is just required that the ceremony complies with the guidelines (WHICH CAN BE DONE). With that being said, it seems as if since I'm younger I was not taken seriously and just pushed away since I don't have too much knowledge on the political aspect of this situation.   Class of 2020 has lost everything they hoped for over the course of 12 years. A lot of people have been "expressing" their sympathy for the class of 2020 but the things that has been done do not make up for graduation the slightest bit. Yes, this is a hard time for every one but these are moments we will NEVER get back. There are other high schools around the country that are graduating in large stadiums. This is an option that should be used to give the class of 2020 a PIECE of what they should've gotten for all of their hard work. The rest of our senior year has really been pushed to the side and it looks like those in charge are taking the easy way out. This petition is to prove that the class of 2020 should be granted what they deserve and settling for the given options is not right!!

2020 Graduation Ceremonies ~ Please don't let them miss out on one more thing!

Prom, award ceremonies, last days in the halls, spring sports & concerts, even jobs to save before college..the "lost" list goes on and on! The last few months have been heart-breaking & people are suffering all over, in many different ways! However, the class of 2020, along with many others, has followed the health guidelines, stopped life as they know it, sacrificed a ton in the process, & have helped to save lives. As I go out in public for essentials & see many line up in many different settings in ALL regions of Michigan, I can't help but plead with you to allow the class of 2020 to do the same. We trust the amazing school leaders with our children every day! We challenge them constantly to look at the whole child & be innovative & creative in their instruction. Trust them now!   Many school leaders are looking for your guidance before making final announcements soon.  Please trust our educational leaders, give them the opportunity to give these grads a celebratory moment in time they deserve & need for their mental health. If we have learned anything, we are never guaranteed tomorrow. Let's safely celebrate what we can today with our grads & their families.

Petition to Horry County Schools, Superintendent, Superintendent Rick Maxey

LET HORRY COUNTY SCHOOLS STUDENTS GRADUATE

On April 22, 2020, Horry County Schools Superintendent Dr. Rick Maxey announced that the class of 2020 would have a virtual graduation due to COVID-19. Our graduations are not supposed to held until the first week of June. He announced this on the same day that Governor McMaster announced schools would be closed for the remainder of the year. The Governor allowed the freedom for district superintendents to come up with alternate ways to have a safe graduation. We believe this call to have a virtual graduation was made much too early to judge. Our class has worked extremely hard to reach this milestone and it has been taken away from us much too soon. We ask that you sign this because we believe there are alternate options available to make a graduation work. Whether it is postponed to later in the summer or moved to a new location where precautions are met, we still want to have a chance to achieve what we have always looked forward to. The RIGHT way.

Petition to Jay Inslee, Dr. Wiesman, school boards

Governor Inslee needs to allow outdoor graduations for the 2020 High School Seniors!

The Senior High school classes of 2020 in WA state demand an outdoor graduation option. The WA State Health Dept and Governor Inslee said we needed to flatten the curve. We have far less numbers of Coronavirus and the ability to social distance in an outdoor venue has been easily done in many other states.  Numerous large businesses such as Boeing are open as well as Costco, and Amazon with many more people in one space then an outdoor graduation would create! This is unjust and unfair to not allow school districts to make their own decision on this important life event! Many graduating classes are 500 or less and should have the option for outdoor graduation in June or July.

Traditional Graduation Ceremony for Milford High School Seniors

As of right now Milford High School is cancelling the Graduation Ceremony for this year's graduates due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Right now there are two different plans for the Seniors and parents to choose from. Plan 1 is to have students and their parents gather at the local drive-in and watch a prerecorded ceremony. Plan 2 is to have the music and speeches but have the parents hand the diplomas to their children. These plans are not fair to the seniors graduating this year. Graduations do not belong to the school or the school administration. They belong to the graduates, their families and their friends. While the safety of all the people involved is important, measures cannot be implemented that adversely affect or are unfair to the students. These students have worked 12 years to finish school. This is an important milestone in the lives of all the seniors and is an important milestone in the lives of the parents as well. The students, their families and friends deserve a traditional Graduation Ceremony. Other school districts are delaying their graduations and Milford can and should do the same thing. It is in the best interest of the graduates this year. They have worked so hard for 12 years and it is wrong to rob them of this very important milestone in their lives.
