Petition to Mike Garcia

Rep. Mike Garcia (CA-25) must recant his support for Trump, or Resign.

This past week, Congressman Mike Garcia (CA-25) joined an unprecedented challenge to the Electoral Count mounted by 140 Republican House members and 12 Republican Senators to object to the results of the 2020 Election in the states of Arizona and Pennsylvania, on the basis that they were not "regularly given," despite numerous State and Federal Court Rulings to the contrary.ArtII.S1.C2 of the United States Constitution--which Rep. Mike Garcia has sworn to uphold--explicitly states each state is entitled to appointed electors according to their own laws, so as Federal Representative, he lacks legal standing to object. Instead, he claims to be ostensibly fulfilling his "duty to protect the rights of the men and women of California's 25th District." He won reelection of this hotly contested district by a mere 333 votes precisely because moderate Republicans. His continued defense of these baseless and blatantly false claims were a major contributing factor to the unprecedented storming of the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021, which led to the deaths of five people, including a Capitol Hill Police Officer, Brian Sicknick, who died of his injuries after being bludgeoned with a fire extinguisher by a pro-Trump mob. This act was denounced as an act of domestic terrorism by GOP Spokesman Michael Ahrens, Rep. Will Hurd (R) (TX-23), among others. Additionally, Senator Ben Sasse (R-NE) reported to Hugh Hewitt that senior White House aides told him that President Trump encouraged the violence and was 'delighted' and 'excited'. Given the fact that he has given ideological cover for what his own Republican colleagues have called an act of domestic terrorism, I believe he has violated his Oath of Office, in which he is required to uphold the "Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic." I believe that by his actions, he has violated the spirit of this oath, and several Americans are dead because of it. I believe this to be moral cowardice in the face of a grave threat to our democracy. As a resident, a voter, and a registered Republican of his District, whose rights he claims to protect by this action, I am asking him to publicly recant his previous support for Trump, publicly recant his opposition to the Electoral Count in Pennsylvania and Arizona, and publicly apologize to his constituents for using their reputation to defend this unprecedented action, or resign.

Petition to The citizens of Florida

To change unemployment benefits in Florida and to fix the broken system that is the FL DEO

We inherited a broken computer and outdated unemployment system in Florida. The regular citizens have no say so or oversight in this system and politics. We need a voice ... a voice that can be heard, and a voice that the politicians of the state of Florida will listen to and take seriously. We hear excuses and apologies but we do not see anything that is working or being done. While citizens of Florida go hungry and poorer by the day from being out-of-work due to the Coronavirus, the politicians just spin things to appease us and just say things will get better .. things will get fixed. there is no accountability ... their is no oversight ... there is nothing for the people of Florida ... only politicians words that we should tough it out ... we should be stronger ... we should not complain. While, the politicians are spending time in their big houses and mansions ... with a job ... with money ... with not a care of what is happening around them or about the people of Florida. How many people have been trying to file for unemployment for weeks with no avail ? We are expected to wait til things get fixed ... wait for a measly unemployment checks, if we do get one which is way below the average for the nation. Stand up ... be counted. I, for one, have stood around and not said a word, but, one can only stand on the sideline for so long...  to see all the injustice that comes out when there is a crisis. We will not be quiet anymore !!! Let your politicians know that you want the Florida unemployment to change or you will vote them out. Right now, GOP led House are not willing to change the current ineffectual unemployment benefits which is the lowest in the country ... In Florida, your weekly benefit amount is calculated by dividing your total earnings for the highest paid quarter of the base period by 26, up to a current maximum of $275 per week. You can receive benefits for anywhere between 12 to 23 weeks, depending on Florida's current unemployment rate.  The Governor said it normally takes “2-3” weeks for someone to receive money after filing a claim but some people haven't received payments after filing more than four weeks ago Other states unemployment benefit rates: Illinois – $1,495.Massachusetts – $1,179.Maine – $855.Ohio – $753.Connecticut – $706. The DEO Connect website is still experiencing problems and our Florida Republican politicians do not think this needs to be fixed at all or even look into ... please forward this petition to your social medias and lets get this website and our broken unemployment system fixed asap.
