God damn, did the marketing team even try?? If it was any one person saying this stuff, I could excuse it as just a well-intentioned misunderstanding, but this is like Autism Speaks level language from a mega corporation

I think the intention is well meaning, but as pointed out, Down syndrome is not something you can get better from. That should be worded more accurately.

Come on, Cheerios, who approved this campaign? Surely you can find someone with a more inclusive vocabulary and wider world view than the staff and company you hired for this. You have to do better.

Did you know that Cheerios has the most glyphosate of any cereal, causing any number of harmful effects? I'm signing your petition, but I think there's an issue just as big, concerning Cheerios.

Yes, the wording could be better. But, I believe the point of the support is to help pay for treatment of other co-morbidities that frequently accompany Down's Syndrome. So, that would help make that person's HEALTH better, or a "healthier person", not make them be a "better person", as if to say Down's Syndrome people need to be improved, which can be interpreted from the wording.

I was born blind and am now 72 years old, so am very aware of the kind of marginalization people with disabilities can face, along with the YOU CAN'T do that if you are blind kind of discrimination that exists.

As a special educator, these children and many others with different types disabilities are first human. Second, they can do so much more than the “normal” people give them credit for; and they have so much to offer!!!
